Speaking

Since childhood I've enjoyed speaking in front of people about my experiences growing up with a disability. After my time at college and my travels, I've learned how to impart the few insights I've gained in a light-hearted and engaging way, that allows me to connect with people who might not otherwise realize how many fun challenges there are is out there for a young woman with a disability to conquer!

I have spoken at national, statewide and local conferences on disability and inclusion. I've given the keynote speech at the Building Blocks for Big Beginnings Conference in Ft. Walton, Florida and participated on youth panels discussing growing up and thriving with a disability. I can also speak on children's and young adult literature, particularly the importance of diversity--disability and otherwise--within books. Take a look around my blog to find out a bit more about me and all the interesting and unusual things I've encountered (Three words: Grecian Emergency Room)
